The Washington Heads of Office Leadership Council (WHOOLC) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new directors to its board, marking an important milestone in the organization’s continued growth and strategic direction. Comprising a distinguished group of government and corporate affairs executives, the newly appointed Board members bring new skillsets, a wealth of experience, and a diverse range of perspectives to guide WHOOLC into the future.

“We are excited to welcome our new directors, whose collective expertise and leadership will be instrumental in steering WHOOLC towards new heights of success,” said Brad Knox, WHOOLC Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board. “Each member of the Board brings unique insights and a proven track record of achievement, and we are confident that their guidance will drive innovation, enhance member engagement, and create sustainable value for our stakeholders.”

Joining the WHOOLC Board of Directors are:

Mayealie Adams, Vice President of Government Affairs for Danaher Corporation. She serves as the Head of US Government Affairs and is responsible for developing a comprehensive government affairs strategy at the federal, state, and local levels in support of the company’s main initiatives – Life Sciences, Diagnostics and Biotechnology platforms, and Operating Companies. Her team works to enhance government and stakeholder engagement and build Danaher’s long-term profile and reputation through innovative and aligned external and internal activities.

“I am honored to be joining the Board of Directors for an organization that has made a great impact on my career,” said Adams. As a member of the 2021 Boot Camp class, the insight and connections that I garnered through the program has continued to assist me in my professional development. Since becoming a WHOOLC member, my commitment to seeing the organization thrive has only deepened and I’m proud to support the organization in this manner.”

Lance Mangum

Lance Mangum, Staff Vice President for Government Affairs at FedEx Corporation.  As Staff Vice President, and a corporate officer, he is responsible for managing the department and strategy that advances the federal legislative, political, public policy, and diplomatic interests of FedEx Corporation and its operating companies. Mangum and his team engage with members of Congress, White House and Administration officials, and industry associations to advance the domestic and international transportation, tax, trade, and security issues important to FedEx.

“I have been affiliated with WHOOLC since its inception and have watched how the organization has grown from an idea cultivated by President and Co-Founder Molly Ryan, Co-Founder and Chairman Knox, and Executive Director Mariko Bennett,” said Mangum. “There is no other organization like WHOOLC that works to shape and support government affairs executives of color in a manner where they are empowered, connected, and nurtured in a safe space. I am excited to help chart the future for WHOOLC.”
